FAQs: Our Policies & Who Can Apply
Car Hire Excess Insurance
If your rental car is damaged, written off or stolen, your rental company will charge you an excess which will be taken from your credit card. Your LowerHire car hire excess insurance policy will then reimburse you the amount of the excess that you have paid, subject to the cover limits of the policy.
Who can Apply
The LowerHire Car Hire Excess insurance policy is only available for persons, irrespective of their nationality, who reside in the UK.
Single Trip Insurance
The LowerHire Car Hire Excess Insurance policy provides cover for any singular car rental agreement with specified dates up to a limit of 62 days.
If you return home before your policy expiry date all cover ceases.
Annual Multi Trip Insurance
Our Annual Multi Trip Insurance will provide cover for as many car rental agreements within a 12 month period as the insured person requires, so long as each agreement does not exceed 31 days.
For any car rental agreement known to be exceeding the maximum duration, the entire period will not be insured.
14 Day Cooling Off Period
When purchasing either the Single Trip or the Annual Multi Trip Car Hire Excess Insurance you are entitled to a 14 day cooling off period. This allows you to read through the documentation carefully to ensure the policy is suitable for your requirements. Please note that if your car rental agreement commences within the 14 day cooling off period, you are only entitled to cancel provided you have not travelled, made a claim, or intend to make a claim.
